11. Lesson on ICT as the informative tool

The following lesson is my class task on using ICT as the informative tools.
Learning task 1 (pair work) 
Subject: Science
Topic: Food Chain
Objectives: by the end of the activity, each student will be able to;
>> explain the term ‘predator’ and ‘prey’ correctly after the activity.
>> define food chain correctly after the activity.
>> draw a food chain appropriately after the activity.
Design an activity
Activity Title: Food Chain Presentation
Instructions:
·         Open “Microsoft Powerpoint” and make a presentation of 3-4 slides about ‘Food Chain’ with all the features of good presentation.
·         You can read the information on Food Chain from the given link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Food_chain
·         In your presentation, you have to draw a food chain using the list given below and you can search and download the pictures from any search engine and use it in your presentation.
1.      Plants
2.      Insect
3.      Frog
4.      Snake
5.      Owl
·         After you are done with your presentation, you can save it as “Food Chain” in your Desktop.

10. ICT as the informative tool

The computer as an informative tool was about using the computer for information. It basically took me in learning with and learning from ICT. To teach well, we need to be mindful of how learners learn and get more effective information. We must focus on learning with ICT as it involves the learners and an effective way to get information. I learned that we need to plan lessons and activities in such a way that students learn with ICT. It was interesting for me to know that computer is not just a source of information but also medium of information.
Under computer as a communicative tool, I learned and explored the communicative tools like online chat, discussion forum, and social networking sites. From these tools, we can use either synchronous or asynchronous communication. Synchronous means both the individuals have to be online and communication should happen simultaneously. Examples of, Phone call, video conferencing, Skype. Whereas In asynchronous both the individual need not have to be online. They can drop the message whenever they feel convenient. Examples of Wechat, messenger, email etc. Constructing lesson on informative tools really engaged me in using every tool which was very relevant to use in this modern schooling system. 

9. PHET simulations

PhET simulation is an interactive educational tool 
that provides us real-life

experience. It gives children opportunity to explore and learn on their own. It makes learning more enjoyable and engaging, fun, and interactive. Children can learn visually and through their own experience. In the class, we were taught how to use science simulations on constructing one simple circuit. It was my first-time experience to use such an interesting learning technology. If we were taught in this way, we would have much bigger insight on the science subject and learning won’t be much difficult.  We just know how the light glows when we switch on but we have never seen or experienced it. Through the simulations, I have come to know how we can increase the brightness and what happens when we increase the number of batteries. I know the instrument to measure current but I never knew how to connect. But through simulations, I have come to know all this. If we incorporate all this while we move to the field then we can make teaching and learn more effectively.

  • Use real-world connections
  • Give users implicit guidance (e.g., by limiting controls) in productive exploration
  • Create a simulation that can be flexibly used in many educational situations




8. My first attempt of Making tutorial

This is my first tutorial. Here the recordings were not good. I try to make a tutorial using screen recording ideas. This is a tutorial to teach them how to make invitation cards. I come up with this idea from the IT lesson that I did when I was in class 9. I really enjoyed making invitation card because of I want to share my ideas with you all.

7. My tutorial

This tutorial is the product of my hard work. After going through so much of challenges I could accomplish this task successfully. Though the tutorial is not as good as I thought, I am happy that through this tutorial I have gained so much knowledge that I could apply once I reach the field.
